Our school is conveniently located on a three-acre campus at 910 Cook Road in Southwest Durham. As a public school, Omuteko Gwamaziima is free to any student eligible to enroll in the Durham Public School System.  Free transportation (busing) isprovided.  Uniforms are required and are purchased through the school.
Studies of classrooms prove that elementary school students do better in smaller classes.  We limit enrollment and keep our classes smaller than neighborhood schools to facilitate learning. 
 
Children learn from each other as well as from their teacher.  Because of this, we group our students in multi-age classrooms.  Each class is named for a different African ethnic group, as shown below.
   
At Omuteko, learning also happens after school and on the weekend!   Additional tutoring and enrichment (individually or in small groups) is provided after school and at our Saturday Academy, staffed by our tutors
